Pick two to four open bottles, or let the app pick. Someone else pours and sees which glass is which. You taste each one without names, give it a verdict, then guess. The app keeps score, and every glass is saved as a pour.

Top it up with the last of a good bottle. The app tracks what went in, the proof when every proof is known, and roughly what it tastes like now. Pour from it like any bottle. It counts as one.

The label is read on your phone and matched to a shared catalog of around a thousand bourbons and cigars, with proof, age, style and the flavors reviewers usually find. Not in the catalog? Add it by hand. In a store, Should I buy it? checks a bottle against your own palate before you do.

Log & captions
A verdict, the flavors you got, done.
Log the pour or the smoke in a few taps: love, like, meh or no, the flavors you actually found, a note, a photo if you like. When one deserves a post, Reserve drafts a caption from the facts of it. Share it wherever you like; the app never posts on its own.

On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, the app writes both, using only your own history. Nothing is sent anywhere. Phones without it show the facts instead, and everything else works the same.
Privacy
Yours, full stop.
Your bottles, cigars, notes and photos are stored on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud. The developer can't see your shelf, and has no wish to.

Is it free?
Free to download and genuinely useful free: up to 15 bottles, 10 kinds of cigar, 5 label scans, manual add, catalog search, logging, Tonight and export. Reserve lifts the caps, makes scanning unlimited, and adds Insights, the written note on each bottle and drafted captions: $3.99 a month, $24.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $59.99 once. Whatever you add is yours on any plan; nothing is ever hidden or deleted. No account, no ads either way.
Do I need an account?
No. The shared catalog downloads anonymously the first time you open the app, and everything you add stays on your phone and in your iCloud. There's a Sign in with Apple button in Settings, but it only exists for the few people who maintain the catalog. You never need it.
Does it work without Apple Intelligence?
Yes. The written notes and shelf reads need an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or newer) with it turned on. On any other iPhone running iOS 26 or later, the app shows the plain facts in their place, and scanning, the shelf, the humidor, Tonight and logging all work the same.
Is there an Android version?
No. Proof & Ash is built on Apple's on-device tools, which is a large part of how it keeps your data on your phone. It's iPhone only.
What data do you collect?
None. The App Store label says "Data Not Collected", and it means it. The catalog request carries no account and no identifier, and this website runs no analytics and sets no cookies. The privacy policy has the detail.
