Scan a label to add a bottle, log what you poured and what you thought of it, and let the Tonight screen suggest what to open. There's no account and no ads, and everything stays on your phone and in your private iCloud.

Point the camera at a bottle or a band. The label is read on the phone and matched to a shared catalog of around a thousand bourbons and cigars, with proof, age, style and the flavors reviewers usually find. Anything missing can be added by hand.

Logging a pour or a smoke takes a few taps: a verdict, the flavors you actually got, a note, a photo. Over time the app builds a picture of your palate from your own history rather than from scores. The Tonight screen uses it to answer the nine o'clock question, what should I open, leaning on what you've loved, what you haven't touched in a while, and what's already open.

The shelf shows every bottle with how much is left, when it was last poured and what it cost, with chips for wheated, high rye, barrel proof and bottled-in-bond drawn from the catalog's facts. The humidor keeps a count of every cigar. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, the app writes a short note on each bottle and an honest read of the whole shelf, entirely on the device, and it can draft a caption when a pour deserves a post.

Everything personal is stored on the iPhone and in the owner's private iCloud. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking; the App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected". Proof & Ash is made by Paul Cobb, an independent developer, and is rated 17+.

Paul Cobb builds Proof & Ash on his own. He drinks bourbon, keeps a humidor, and made the app he wanted and couldn't find: one that remembers both and keeps what it learns on the phone.
